Hot DOG!

There's just no denying it. I love a good hotdog. Takes me right back to my childhood and to years past when I took my girls to watch the Albuquerque Dukes play on ball fields that stirred up more earth than a stampede of New Mexico dust devils (back when the Dukes were a Dodgers farm team). It's not commonly known, but other than the carby bun and the lips and assholes, hotdogs are super healthy for you. I mean, about that, I'm willing to suspend disbelief. Or reality. Whatever. Same thing.

So yesterday, while visiting my niece in Houston, I walked in on my niece's husband just as he sat down on the couch to watch NASCAR with five—count 'em, FIVE—hotdogs loaded with chili and cheese. It looked like a Talladega pile-up all over his plate, which he was about to lap up.

I was like, Dude, you hungry? You know that's gonna be bad news later for anyone unlucky enough to be in your—er, air space. Of course, he knew that; and, like a guy, he thought that'd be funny. And as a one-o-the-boys kind of girl, I thought that'd be funny too. Man, did those dogs smell good!

So I went to the stove and loaded up a plump and juicy dog on a bun, with onions and a whipped-cream portion of mustard. No relish, but that's okay cuz relish is totally bad for you. Yum, right? Just in time for the 3-hour drive home with my two daughters and a coupla kids in the back seat.

Heh, heh. THAT was funny.

Aha! you have discovered the way to make a hotdog palatable: chopped onions and mustard.

Hoo yeah!

I can't help myself about hot dogs. Chicago style Viennas, piled with runny Cincinnati chili and shredded sharp cheddar. The after affects are so worth it.

Well, it sounds like you just took a step toward living large, being bold, re-energizing and reinventing yourself. Sounds like it's a gas! (Sorry, couldn't help myself.)

And your fresh new blog look is stunning!

I love hotdogs. I don't even care that they're made of lips and assholes. I like Bratwursts too. That's a special weiner. They take all the typical dog stuff and place it into an intestine casing. YUMMY!!!!

And, I love your in-car attitude. I can hear them now, "Aww, Jeesh, crack a window or sumpin!"

You may well be the perfect woman...Funny, good looking, and you like to fart?.... B-E-A-U-tiful :-)

Hot Dogs are the perfect food! Now team them up with cheese, chili and some onions and you have heaven in a bun. Oh and filling up on one just before the long drive? Priceless.

Cruel and unusual punishment, maybe...but priceless.

When I'm at any sporting event, like a baseball, football or basketball game, I CRAVE a good hot dog!! It's the only time I eat them, but there's something about sitting outdoors watching sports, I gotta have one!!

A hot dog is such a classic American food and I wish I could eat them. I just can't. I puked on one in Disney World as a child and haven't eaten one since. I wish I could get over it.

That's so funny. I NEVER eat hot dogs and just this evening I told my husband I was craving one. Of course, you can guess how he responded to THAT comment!

(Men are so predictable, aren't they?!)

Love what you've done with the place. Pass the wieners, please. And if you've got a cold beer, that would be good, too.

Ohhhh, you know what's even better but bad on the passengers in your car??? Chili cheese sauerkraut hot dogs! Now that's good!

Now I know who to send all the hot dogs in my life to.

Er, to whom to send all the hot dogs in my life.

'Cause I cain't stand them. But a Polish sausage? For some reason, it's vastly different to me.

There could have been a way to rig yourself up to the exhaust system, but your instinks were correct: kids shouldn't be protected from adversity.

I agree with you that hotdogs are healthy, full of good things like protein and fat.

I hate hot dogs... but suddenly I want one!

Farts are always good comedy. Unfortunately hot dogs remind me of childhood too, except not in a good way. My grandfather worked at a meat packing place, we had an abundance of hot dogs at any given time. We ate them quite often. Too often actually. lol. Although anything covered in chili is a good thing in my book.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Hey - it looks great in here! Love the red flower!

And yes, gassing anyone out, in my opinion, is funny stuff.

One or two hot dogs are good. There's a stand nearby with a cult following because they deep fry the hot dog.

Don't knock it till you've tried it!

Five would make me barf NASCAR dude.

His "pile-up" was probably in the bathroom a couple of hour later.

Whenever anyone says "hot dog" in the presence of my dog he puts his head down like he's in trouble and slinks out of the room.

I've been gone too long! When did you change your design? I like it. :)

I've been a vegetarian for 17 years, and I love a good veggie dog. Mmmm...mmm! A few months after I declared my vegetarianism, I found myself at a basketball game where I purchased and consumed half of a hot dog before realizing what I'd done. Is this because they've been so processed, or could I not bear to part with a good weiner? Who knows, but I remember this so clearly.

FIVE? I'd not only move out of his air space, I'd move out of his city

Five loaded hot dogs???? Good grief! Thassa hungry boy right there. You know what pisses me off? (I'm bringing this around to me now - sorry) is that I'm lucky if I can stuff one of those dogs down and yet I'm still way fat. Damn it. So unfair.
