Let's just recap my weekend, shall we? Wherein three fabulous things happened...
#1 Fabulous Thing:
Praise the Universe, I finally got my laptop back with a shiny new hard drive and lots of space to cram all sorts of grey matter I want to preserve for posterity. Yay, and huggy thanks to Waynerdawg for making it happen. You da king.
#2 Fabulous Thing:
I made my performance on the "Listen to Your Mother" Show. What a blast! I think I only flubbed one line, but it wasn't the tongue-twister I had feared, so I probably drifted somewhere else when that happened—like to the OMG-I'm-speaking-to-300-people place. Or maybe I was still freaked out at being the person to follow the lovely and incomparable Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess). It was like, Really? I have to follow her? That's the equivalent of Jan Brady on the kitten heels of Marsha Marsha Marsha. Wait, who's Jan again, and why is she stuttering like Porky Pig? Uh, be-a-be-a-be—uh, that's all she wrote, folks.
The incredibly talented LTYM cast, post-show (minus Jenny and Kristin). I'm the short shit in the middle. |
I want to publicly thank Wendi Aarons and Jennifer Sutton for the awesome job they did in producing this show and for their incredible contributions on stage. They are two smart, funny, wonderful women. And I'd also like to thank my sisters in writing, all the multi-talented and lovely LTYM cast members. How about we take this show on the road, girls?
More to follow on LTYM later, including links and pics and stuff.
#3 Fabulous Thing:
After the show, I was totally allowed to eat carbs again. Woot-woot! My ingestion this weekend, post LTYM, consisted of chips and queso and salsa, chips and queso and salsa, and, I admit, chips and queso and salsa—and a waffle. Two of the best food groups ever.

LMAO @ 'short shit in the middle...'
But you're still cute...
Re: Osama... YES!!!
~shoes~
Look at you! You're a petite little flower.
How cool about LTYM! May you get your public speaking career!
AND about getting to eat carbs again ;-)
Wow ! I bet you were the shining star of the show :-)
I agree about it being time to revisit bringing the troops home. We have a very good reason now. We can use this death as a "withdrawal with dignity" type thing. We got the (a) bad guy, come home now!
I think you can eat carbs all the time if you pose with one hip forward. I'm counting on it, anyway.
Hi there. I really appreciate the points you made. I don’t think I’ve actually thought about it in that way. I can really appreciate how you approached the subject matter and what you said really gave me a new perspective. Thanks for taking the time to write this all out.
Congrats on a successful show!! The group pic is awesome and you are beautiful!!!
Enjoy those carbs!
Osama?? Wicked man has been removed...this is a good thing!!
Hugs
SueAnn
That's fantastic!
Ohhh and how cute are you, ya tiny litte thing ya!
Pearl
You sound much taller on your blog!
Congratulations on the show!
You're absolutely gorgeous. I think you have plenty of wisdom to share and I'd happily go to any show you wanted to put on -- especially if it involved boobage.
Because seriously, those things are magnificent.
I might have to write a poem about them.
XOXOXO
P.S. You flubbed nothing. You were fabulous.
You are amazing and awesome. Also, I kind of love that I'm not in that picture because everyone else is like a willowy damn twig and I'd be the yeti in the picture.
No one wants to be the yeti in the picture.
HOOOOOOORAY!!!!!!!!!!
I've missed you! Glad you're back and that your computer is fixed - and here's to eating carbs again.
PS: LTYM = totally-super-awesome.
three cheers for CARBS! i am trying to cut back on them, and it is all i can think about lately!
I'm so glad it all went so beautifully. You are a stunning young woman! And I have no doubt you rocked!
Ooh, darlin,
You are STILL HOT!!!
At lease from a distance ...

So sorry I missed it. Family duty called. Wish I could stop carbs for two days and look like you.
can't wait to see the video! I'm sure it was a total blast!
You rocked the house, baby! I was there and am here to shout it out.
I can say I knew you when you were merely smelly (vs fragrant). Lol
Carbs? I don't get the connection.
Awesomeness! Wish I coulda seen it.... But the miles are an issue. I'm pretty sure you did the , um, family proud! Smooches and hugs mi hermana!
You go girl! Good for you! Carb it up baby!
Come to my blog and tell me your song before you go into a carb coma though.
Look how cute you are!!
Congrats on the show! xo
Right, so I had my head turned for FIVE MINUTES and in that time you become, like, some international celebrity, doing speaking engagements and becoming a star....
Unreal.
I love it :))
Turquoise, aquamarine, I know, I know, I haven't forgotten. Can you BELIEVE how long it's taking me?? Just makes me keep thinkin' of ya :)) xoxoxo Oh, and yeah, I did a shout out for you. Cos I love you. See how much I care....
I had no doubt that you would rock it. Congratulations. I hope they got it on video. I'd love to see it. Please reprint a post of what you performed.
And you're not short. The others are clearly mutant Amazon women.
Congratulations on all those fabulous things!!!
You. Are. Awesome. I daresay this is the beginning of something exciting for you. Just watch!
This is fantastic! I could literally spend the entire day sitting on my ass with a cup of coffee exploring your blog...something I may do next week! I'm a newbie, 3 weeks in, to this whole blogging thing so I'm still trying to figure out how to make the rounds. I'm so glad you found mine so now I can enjoy yours. Happy Mother's Day!
I'm not sure what amazes me the most. Being able to eat carbs again or the sheer height of women in the US.
I clearly need to catch up on goings-on around here. Sounds like a hoot!
And, darlin', we need to get you some 5-inch heels. :)
You're the cute shit in the middle.
