On starting Kindergarten:

Yeah, all that "be quiet" goin' on is a turn off... ;D
Why not just let her skip kindergarten and go to High School? She's so full of wisdom... no need to waste her time on kindergarten now is there?

you might want to tell her you never outgrow the "Quiet Time"..... you hate to see it coming as a child....
and as an adult, you covet it, like the last piece of devil's food cake.....
Clearly, this is a child who is going to grow up to be a wise woman of the universe.....

See - even then I was a nerd. I loved to read & do math - & I absolutely loved the quiet. Sad, I know.

Let's cross our fingers she gets a teacher who understands 5 year olds, and that they learn better when they get to enjoy it.

She is dead right! Not only that 'be quiet nonsense, but there's always this really bossy person standing at the head of the class telling you what to do!

Wow can we get this girl to talk to some of the higher ups in education and school reform, i think that was a pretty good sum it up moment!
Those are the exact 3 reasons I never liked school.
