How to Freak Out Your Kid

As a single mom of four adult daughters, I have to say there are few greater giggles in life than seeing the looks on their faces when I do things they're not expecting. And trust me, it's not hard to get a BIG rise out of them.

This particular “look” came from my eldest last Friday evening as I raced out of the house for my weekend getaway at a B&B with Mr. Fine. An astonished mix of disgust and horror came over TG's face when she saw me joyfully dangling the shiny handcuffs that her little Destructo had discovered while pillaging my jewelry box.

“Hey, thanks, buddy!" I shouted. "Good idea! See you guys Monday!”

Horror and disgust.

Sweet!

Party on!

It isn't until middle age that one really perfects the skills of the bedroom, right?

That is soooo funny. My kids bought me some "fur covered" hand-cuffs as a gag gift for my 50th birthday, which I prompty cuffed to the bed in the room where they sleep....the next time they visited. It really upped the eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkk factor.

LOL.

I am a little slow...

was your daughter messing with your jewerly? And so she saw the handcuffs? And...

then you called her out on it by dangling them in front of her. Very good!!!

Whenever I bring handcuffs, I usually bring a hacksaw, just in case!! LOL!

I love it!! As a mother of 3 adult daughters and 2 adult sons, I totally get the joy and laughter you get out of seeing them get a rise over the unexpected. Sweet!

That's in case you lose the key, and need to slip them off...yeah, that's it...

Naughty girl! I assume the next post will tell us how, uh ... effective the handcuffs were?

hilarious...seriously though. I would never, ever, never even let my hubby put handcuffs on me. I know that would be the time the tornado would come through our town, the fire alarm would go off, or the kids would come crashing in...NO WAY not taking any chances!

Good going, you put them off balance. A victory for us grownups! And I hope you had a real good time!

And so Mr Fine became Mr CONfined.

Sweet!

So, ah, how'd it go at the B&B? Or is it all under lock and key, so to speak?

C'mon, spit it out, I'm living vicariously through you..

LOL! Yes, it's always fun to horrify our kids, isn't it? That's how I keep mine from reading my blog. I told them if they read it they'll learn all about their parent's sex life in detail. They haven't looked at 24 once since. Of course, I don't write about my sex life (much) on 24 ... but it keeps them out of my bidness now, doesn't it? : )

B. That is so freakin funny! I love it. I told my sister once that if hubby and I ever died she needed to go clean out the top of our closet before the kids did... She said she'd get her hubby to do it! hahahahahaha

Oh yeah. . . I can see right now, those kids of yours will certainly need therapy from the visuals they must have unfortunately been unable to block out! LOL

HA! Good one! I've been enjoying shocking my 17 year old daughter every once in a while. She is a very liberal girl, but once in a while I can catch her unexpectedly.

Hahahahahahaha! I'm thinking the next post will say how you didn't even need to bring those babies out.

I'm worried that Otin handcuffs girls, and then saws them into small bits.

Also? I think that one of the primary reasons to have kids is to make them wildly uncomfortable with the thought that their parents have sex.

Rock on!
