WTF Wednesday: Blocked

Some of you know I'm working on the editing/rewrite of my novel. It's a romantic comedy. Unfortunately, I'm a rusty after being away from the manuscript for awhile. My creative juice is a little watered down. Plus, much as I love my story and I'm anxious to finish it, some days it's not easy changing up the things that need changing up. Like today. Who can so easily kill off all her darlings? So I hope you'll indulge me as I send this little gift out to the universe, in gratitude. It's my personal love Haiku for all things creative.

Writer's block is vexing me,
Flexing, hexing, perplexing me.
Fucker.

Found you through Margeritaville. Love the Haiku. I'll be back.

Despite a great many of my relationships being laughable and claims that I am rusty, I’m unable to grant any advice on this genre you’ve undertaken.

Regardless, I like what I see here. I think I’ll stick around.

Writings a b*tch. My notes are all still wrapped up in a paper bag in the storage room.

Loved the haiku.

Oh, I'm going through writer's block at the moment. I'm also writing a romantic comedy and it's not going well! Ugh.

At least you're still being creative here? I hope you become un-stuck soon on your novel.

I hate writer's block. But at least you have a book you are writing. Mine is still trying to come into being. Hope your haiku works.

Great haiku! Get some place to calm yourself, even if it's the bathtub and let yourself go... hopefully, that will unblock all of that wonderfully creative talent.

Fucker indeed.

The power of suggestion...I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to say, I'm having a block myself. Hope yours leaves soon, maybe you should throw in a couple more F-bombs...that might do the trick, something like fuck you fucking writers block you fucking fucker! Whew...I feel so naughty right now!

Well, your creative juices may be watered down.
If you say so.
But that last line in your Haiku?
Deep, very very deep, sister.

Thats my favorite word!

Go to a Starbucks and sit near any two women. No doubt they will be talking relationships and may give you a few ideas.

I've written a Haiku or two, but never has one included "Fucker" in it. Hilarious. Hope the writer's block gives way....

Forget the novel--your real talent obviously lies in haiku.

Embrace the block! What you resist will persist. Use the time to get some other stuff done and in the middle of cleaning your bathroom or some other dreadful chore, something cool will come to you. Writing is like a roller coaster--just when you think you're never going to get over the hump, you do, and then things just flow.

Good luck!

Revision is always the toughest part of writing, especially the "make it shorter" part. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't have put it there in the first place!

Well, good luck, and once the novel is done you have a great future as a Haikuist. If that's a word.
